CM Punjab Free Core i7 Laptop Scheme for Students – 2025 Update

In a major step toward digital empowerment, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has officially launched the CM Punjab Free Laptop Scheme 2025, promising free 13th-generation Intel Core i7 laptops to thousands of deserving students across Punjab. This initiative revives and upgrades the former PML-N government’s laptop distribution programs but with a stronger focus on performance, equity, and transparency.

The scheme targets students enrolled in public universities, government colleges, and professional institutions, including agriculture, engineering, and medical colleges. One of the key highlights of the 2025 version is the use of Intel Core i7 laptops, which are powerful enough to handle advanced academic work, programming, data science, and online learning.

Who Is Eligible?

Eligibility criteria are strictly defined to ensure merit-based distribution:

  • Students must be enrolled in the 1st or 2nd semester of a BS (Bachelor’s) program.
  • A minimum of 65% marks in intermediate is required (80% for medical/dental students).
  • Applicants must have a Punjab domicile.
  • Those who previously received laptops under older schemes are not eligible.
  • Quotas are allocated for South Punjab, minorities, and special disciplines.

Some universities are directly registering eligible students through HEC records, while others require manual registration on the official portal:

Timeline & Distribution

Registration began in February–March 2025, and distribution started after Ramadan, with the first batch of laptops delivered in April–May 2025. CM Maryam Nawaz personally oversaw several launch events to hand over devices to top-performing students, showcasing the government’s commitment to youth development. Purpose and Impact

This scheme is not just a political gesture—it’s a strategic investment in Pakistan’s future. With students increasingly reliant on digital tools for research, remote learning, and skill development, these laptops provide a level playing field, especially for those from underprivileged backgrounds.

By empowering students with cutting-edge technology, the Punjab government aims to foster innovation, digital literacy, and better job readiness among the youth. This also supports the broader vision of creating a knowledge-based digital economy in Pakistan.

Important:
The CM Punjab Free Laptop Scheme 2025 is more than a device giveaway—it’s a bridge to digital opportunity. Students are encouraged to check their eligibility and stay updated via the official website. Empowerment, education, and equity—this initiative ticks all the right boxes.
